Terry Woodruff

Born in Vancouver, Terry prefers to call “BC” her hometown. Before settling down in Grand Forks, she lived in 14 different communities across the province. With her moving days behind her, she has been a resident of Grand Forks for more than 23 years.

Terry held a career in financial services, starting when she joined the Bank of Montreal (BMO) in 1981, where she became branch manager in 1996. Terry was also part of an initiative in 2000 that oversaw local credit unions absorbing rural BMO branches that were closing in small communities across the province. She helped gfcu absorb the local BMO branch and joined gfcu management team.

After retiring from gfcu in 2011, Terry pursued one of her major passions: art. She enrolled in a Fine Arts program at the Emily Carr University of Art, and then took a contract position at the Grand Forks Art Gallery as Executive Director for two years. Upon concluding this immensely enjoyable sidestep, she realigned with retirement and life at her studio on the hay farm, where Terry and her husband, Wayne, now spend the bulk of their time. They are also busy keeping up with their daughter and three grandchildren.

Terry volunteered as an elected trustee for the Grand Forks Irrigation District Board about 10 years, she was a board member for the Grand Forks Art Gallery, and, of course, is a director with the gfcu. Terry currently serves on the Audit Committee and the Credit and Market Risk Committee.
