Robert Kendel

Since joining us in 2015, Bob has served with the gfcu Board of Directors for five years. Growing up in Saskatchewan, he has always been focused on hard work and finding achievement in a job well done. He is a certified journeyman in three different trades, a path that led him to start a number of successful small businesses – inevitably leading to early retirement right here in BC.

After initially moving to Kelowna, Bob was quickly elected to the Strata Council in his community. However, with family in the Kootenays, Bob and his wife decided to settle down in Grand Forks. As a resident, Bob was elected to the City Council in Grand Forks before joining the gfcu Board. He also opted to operate another small business here in town.

However, Bob and his wife have now set their sights back on a “real” retirement. One that allows them the freedom to move, travel, and visit their grandchildren.

Bob’s unique experiences bring a great perspective to boardroom conversations and he currently serves on the Conduct Review Committee as well as the Member and Community Relations Committee.
