David Marshall

Born in Vancouver, David has seen his fair share of British Columbia. After attending high school in Kelowna and graduating from BCIT in Vancouver with a Diploma in Forest Resource Technology, he spent his early working years in the field of forestry.

That changed in 1972, when David began his career in real estate. In 1977, he made the move to Grand Forks to become a partner in the Border Country Realty firm, where he spent the rest of his working career. David also graduated from UBC in the appraisal option in 1981.

David’s two children were both born right here in Grand Forks, graduated from GFSS, and moved on to graduate from UBC. His son went on to graduate as an architect from the University of Alberta, while his daughter earned a master’s in psychology from UBC.

No stranger to community service, David has served as a director with the Grand Forks Chamber, Selkirk College, Community Futures Boundary, and Community Futures of BC. Currently, he is also a director of the Gables Housing Society. David’s tenure at the gfcu has been his second term as a director.

In addition, David has been a member of the Kinsmen Club and the Grand Forks Rotary Club. He was an Auxiliary Constable with the Grand Forks Detachment RCMP and is currently the Treasurer of both the Grand Forks Masonic Building Society and Harmony Lodge #37 of the Grand Lodge of BC and Yukon.
